Monique teamed up with Kim kardashian to help free the rapper Corey “C-Murder “ Miller, who is currently serving a life sentence for murder in 2002.
The R&B singer announced plans to work with human rights lawyer Kim on Sunday Jessica jackson, and REFORM Alliance Erin haney to help free her ex-boyfriend, who she was dating at the time of the incident.
“C-Murder and I are bound by truth, honesty and loyalty. There has never been a broken promise and I have sworn to ask for help,” Monica wrote on Instagram. “Corey deserves to come home with his daughters and be the father they need, to be the artist and leader he always has been and to give hope to those who have also lived. that.”
She went on to explain a tearful conversation she had with Chi actress Lala Antoine and Kim, explaining why she “knew” that Miller was innocent.
Kim pledged to help Miller return home to his children and seek out “true justicefor Thomas on Twitter, demanding that the person who “really” killed him be held responsible.
Miller is serving a sentence at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola. He shared his appreciation for their efforts on Instagram, grateful Kim for “changing the lives of those of us who have been forgotten.” In another article, he thanked Monica for preparing a “team that could change the outcome of a very unfair fate. “
As mentioned in the BET docuseries Chronicles without limits, Miller – the rapper’s brother Master P – had a successful rap career before being convicted of the second degree murder of a 16-year-old Steve thomas. Miller and his family maintained his innocence, alleging several errors during the investigation and trial, including retracted witness statements, insufficient DNA, and a 10-2 jury conviction, though he subsequently turned out denied a new trial.
