Center for American Education’s Redesigned Website Offers Parents New Tools and Resources
Parents and residents of Idaho now have more resources at their disposal to help them better understand the state’s education system, the benefits of school choice, and the educational resources available to them and their children.
The pandemic has opened the eyes of many parents not only to the problems in their local schools, but also to the need to provide a high quality education for their children. Frustrated parents may not know how to find information about what is happening in their neighborhood or about the resources and alternative options available to them.
The IFF’s Center for American Education (CAE) exists to help parents find answers to these questions. Our redesigned website offers a variety of new resources and tools to enlighten and empower families.
The Idaho K-12 LEAD map, released last month, helps parents better understand the quality of their local public school district. Consult the map to find information on the academic performance of students; district expenditure per student; the superintendent’s total salary; diversity, equity and inclusion staff; critical social justice incidents; and nearby alternative education providers. The map also allows users to track district fund balances for rainy days. Help ACE track social justice incidents by submitting an Incident Report Form, located below the map legend.
The Education Choice Stories page details testimonials from Idaho families who transitioned their children from public schools and now see them thrive in an environment of choice. These stories provide first-hand insight into the variety of educational options available and the many benefits of school choice.
The new Parent Resource Center aims to empower parents in Idaho. The Educational Materials and Online Resources tab lists carefully selected online resources on a variety of topics, including art and music, civics and government, literature, entertainment, finance, and more. Whether you’re homeschooling or just want to find high-quality, age-appropriate activities to supplement your child’s learning, this page is for you.
In the coming weeks, the Parent Resource Center will feature educational articles on learning models such as microschools, mainstream schools, and more.

The Video and Media section compiles a comprehensive list of ACE webinars, interviews, video testimonials, presentations and other recordings on a variety of education-related issues.
The Education Index provides timely legislative analysis so that state legislation is understandable and accessible. It also promotes transparency by helping the public understand how their legislators vote on critical education issues.
