Kostas Arvanitis is a Greek journalist, member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA). He has been active in journalism since 1987 and has worked in various Greek newspapers and online media, as well as in various broadcasters as a TV and Radio presenter, including Diavlos 10 FM, Flash 96 FM, ERA (Second Programm) FM, NET 105.8 FM, Voice of Greece FM, Diesi FM, Vima FM, Mega Channel, NET channel (ERT), ET1 channel (ERT). Currently, he is the Director of the Greek radio station Sto Kokkino 105.5 FM. Before joining Sto Kokkino, Kostas Arvanitis was presenting a news/magazine TV programme on ERT, from where he was arbitrarily suspended after making a statement about the threats of the Greek public order minister, Nikos Dendias, against the newspaper Guardian. In paraller to his journalistic career, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA) for the last three years, while he has been participating in activities of such therapeutic communities since 1987.
He was born in Athens, in 1975. Initially he worked as a Graphic Designer and Programmer in several publications (newspapers and magazines mostly). In 2000 he founded Bits'n'Bytes, a software house that later, in 2005, evolved into a publishing house. It publishes magazines and web portals on the subjects of News&Politics, as well as Motorsport. He has been actively engaged in road safety issues and is awarded by the European Road Safety Charter for his work. Moreover, he has produced the documentary film "Debtocracy", created by Aris Chatzistefanou and Katerina Kitidi.
Peter Fleissner is the president of the NGO transform!at. He was full professor of Social Cybernetics at the Vienna University of Technology. For many years he gave courses in data protection and data security. Before he worked for the European Commission at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies in Sevilla, Spain, and at the European Monitoring Center on Racism and Xenophobia in Vienna, Austria.

William Horsley is an independent journalist and former BBC foreign correspondent who writes on international affairs and is active in several major policy initiatives to safeguard freedom of expression, counter violence against journalists and end impunity. He is the International Director of the Centre for Freedom of the Media at the University of Sheffield and UK chairman and Media Freedom Representative of the Association of European Journalists. He is the author of the OSCE's Safety of Journalists Guidebook and in 2014 he was appointed as an independent expert on the Council of Europe's Committee on the protection of journalism and safety of journalists.

Gill Phillips, Director of Editorial Legal Services, Guardian News & Media, is a media law specialist. She advises on a range of content-related matters including defamation, privacy, contempt of court and reporting restrictions. She joined the BBC in 1987 as an in-house lawyer dealing with pre- and post- publication review and litigation matters. Between 1996 and 1997, she was an in-house lawyer at News Group Newspapers (The Sun and The News of the World) before moving to the College of Law, where she lectured in civil and criminal litigation and employment. In 2000, she joined Times Newspapers Limited as an in-house lawyer, becoming Head of Litigation. In 2009, she moved to Guardian News & Media Limited. She has advised Guardian News & Media on its ground-breaking coverage of major issues pertaining to the freedom of information in recent years, including phone-hacking, Wikileaks, the Leveson Inquiry and most recently the NSA leaks from Edward Snowden. She was a member of the Ministry of Justice's Working Group on Libel Reform. She also sits as a part-time Employment Tribunal Judge and co-authors the College of Law Employment Law handbook.
Dr. Lisa Schilhan, Librarian, obtained her doctorate in art history, works at the University Library at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz. She is currently working on an Open Access project which includes establishing an institutional open access repository, working closely with scientists to advise, counsel and develop new strategies on this topic. As a lecturer she is involved in information literacy programs for undergraduates and as an open access consultant for graduates and young scientists. Stanka Tosheva has worked as a journalist in Bulgaria for over thirty five years. Currently she is the editor-in-chief of Capital Weekly and Capital Daily managing a team of over 50 reporters and technical staff. She has worked at Capital as a political reporter, political editor and deputy editor-in-chief since the independent newspaper was founded in 1993.
